Tips
1. Make sure that your body is ready to exercise by warming up before you begin. Warming up properly involves doing enough movement that you raise your body temperature and that helps to ensure that your body is prepared to handle the stress of exercise safely.
2. Don't put yourself in any unnecessary risk by continuing to exercise if you're sick or particularly fatigued. You will just increase the risk that you stay sick for longer, or increase the likelihood that you will injure yourself while trying to exercise while fatigued. There is always more time another day, there is no need to hurt yourself.
3. Make sure that your work area is organized so that you know where everything is and that it doesn't become somewhat of an obstacle course which could be the cause of accidental injury while doing exercises in that area.
4. Always follow instructions exactly as they are given, they might not seem the easiest or not exactly how you envisioned doing a particular exercise but there is a reason they tell you to do it a certain way. Not doing this is another surefire way to get yourself hurt or injured.
5. Have a plan that you follow throughout the workout and for which days you work out as well. Following a specific plan will help you with organizing what days need what workouts, and how much of a particular exercise you do on a certain day. It goes without saying that it will make your whole experience a whole lot easier.
6. Make sure that you are breathing while doing all exercises, especially when lifting weights. It isnt uncommon to get the idea to hold your breath when lifting weights because you might feel that you can exert more when doing so, but this is not the case. Holding your breath while lifting weights can inhibit the flow of blood to your heart which compromises the amouint of oxygen and blood to the rest of your body.
